Our exhaust collectors come from Barr Marine, manufacturer for all marine motorists such as Mercruiser - Mercury, Volvo Penta, PCM (Pleasure Craft Marine), Crusader, Indmar, Illmor...The other brands we provide, because Barr no longer produces them, are of equivalent quality to minima.

What is the boat exhaust manifold used for?

The exhaust manifold of your boat engine is the cast iron unit that allows the evacuation of exhaust gases and cooling water from your engine.

 

It is an essential/vital element of your engine (as well as exhaust elbows);the gases and water circulating by this same room, if one of them is deficient you put your engine block in danger.

 

Indeed a watertight problem, even infime will cause the cooling water to fall by gravity in the cylinders of your engine block damaging it almost irreversible.You will then have to replace the complete block.

 

When should you change your boat's exhaust manifolds?

We recommend changing these motor peripheries every 5 years;however, this recommendation is an average, intensive use of seawater can deteriorate the substance more quickly;conversely some may have a larger life.If you are brought to change your collector we strongly recommend that you change the elbow and collector pair (the port and starboard), wear being homogeneous.

 

Regardless of your use, a careful examination of these parts (layer and collector) is highly recommended before the season.
