Why a turbo?

\n

The turbo will turn your exhaust gas into extra horses for your engine.Created more than 100 years ago, the turbo or turbocharger is a very good asset in both automotive and nautical, as it allows to deploy more power of your engine, without changing it completely and taking very little space.

\n

How does the turbo work?

\n

The turbo consists of a turbine driven by exhaust gases, with a compressor sucking the air and repressing it under pressure to the cylinders. This system improves engine performance. The power depends in part on the amount of air allowed in the cylinder, or on a classic engine with natural aspiration of atmospheric pressure.

\n

\n

The turbo available only for diesel engines.

\n

Why?The turbo works with the exhaust gas recovery energy, with the oxygen intake that ensures better combustion so a more efficient turbo. The turbo can generate up to 50% more power on your pleasure engine, and even more if you add an intake air cooler.

\n

But why only on diesel?It\'s a problem due to the exhaust temperature. There are about 600 degrees on a diesel engine, and 850 degrees on a petrol engine, which exceeds 1000 degrees on the turbo, which would pose a big safety problem in the boat\'s hold.

\n

Air cooler for more power

\n

The air cooler will make the air denser before it reaches the cylinder. The air that will then go to the combustion chamber will be more concentrated, so we can inject more, and in some cases this air cooler allows to significantly improve the power of your turbo until double it.
