Which Suzuki series do our pumps fit?

Our pumps and repair kits are designed to replace your original part directly, without modifying the fuel circuit. They cover a very wide range of engines:

  • 4-stroke range, DF series: validated compatibility on many blocks, from small portable DF4 models to intermediate DF70 models, ensuring steady supply to the injection system or carburettor.
  • 2-stroke range, DT series: precise fitment on Suzuki's historic architecture, from the DT8 to the powerful DT140. Our pumps restore the vacuum these engines need to avoid any risk of a lean mixture under full load.
  • V6 engines: support for the transfer and lift pumps required by large fuel volumes, helping prevent the VST reservoir from running short at high rpm.

Suzuki OEM reference table

It is essential to cross-check your part reference with those listed in your engine's technical manual. Here are the main certified matches:

Fitment typeSuzuki OEM referencesUse
Main pumps 15170-91J00, 15170-94J02, 15170-99E1V Standard supply for outboard engines, direct mounting.
Specific references 15170-93911, 15170-95D00, 15170-94320, 15170-94400, 15170-94701 Direct replacement depending on year and serial number.
Transfer pumps 13910-87D00 Low-pressure supply and lift feed.

How can you tell if your fuel pump is faulty?

A tired fuel pump causes a drop in pressure in the circuit, which makes the air-fuel mixture too lean. On a marine engine working under heavy load, this can cause the block to overheat. These symptoms should alert you:

  • Hesitation under acceleration and lack of power: especially at high rpm or when getting on plane, showing a lack of petrol.
  • Frequent stalling and a soft primer bulb: often indicates worn non-return valves or a porous internal diaphragm.

Workshop tip: if in doubt, check your circuit pressure with a pressure gauge and compare it with the values in your Suzuki workshop manual. A value that is too low confirms that the pump needs replacing.

Which parts should be checked when replacing the pump?

Changing the pump is not enough on its own. To ensure a reliable repair, we recommend inspecting the fuel supply line:

  • Filters and separators: always replace the engine fuel filter and drain or change the cartridge in your water-separating filter.
  • Hoses and primer bulb: check that they are not cracked or porous to avoid any air leak.
  • Sealing gaskets: make sure the gasket face on the engine block is clean and use a new gasket during reassembly.

To secure your installation, browse our selection of fuel pumps and associated accessories, then get back on the water with peace of mind.
