Backflow Prevention at the Exhaust Outlet

What is an exhaust horn flap?

An exhaust horn flap is a backflow-prevention device mounted on the exhaust horn outlet. It prevents seawater from entering the exhaust system when the engine is off or idling.

When should it be replaced?

Replace if hardened, deformed, or no longer sealing properly. Regular inspection every 2–4 years is recommended to avoid water intrusion risks.

Marine-grade construction

DAM Marine offers flaps for rigid or flexible exhaust horns, made from UV-resistant rubber or reinforced plastic suitable for marine conditions.
