Mercruiser has observed that the front of the seawater pump impeller housing is susceptible to deterioration from debris in the water. If its surface becomes severely worn, the seawater pump may fail to prime or provide insufficient water flow.

Mercruiser now offers heavy-duty impeller kits in smaller size (7.62 mm [0,030 pouce] ) and overmolded internal wear plates.

The seawater pump and impeller kits will include the new heavy-duty impeller and overmolded internal wear plates.

Heavy duty turbine kit (red turbine) design 2 OEM Mercruiser for engine applications:

- 4.3L MPI

- 4.5L MPI

- 5L MPI

- 5.7L MPI

- 6.2L MPI

Usually serial number 2A53000 and later.

Kit including the following positions:

8M0114788 - stainless steel mounting plate with seal

8M0103389 - Heavy duty pump impeller (red hub) 0.762mm short.

8M0072979 - friction plate for heavy duty turbine.
