The Yamaha 40veol - 2009 is a 40 HP 2-stroke outboard engine with a maximum output of 29.4 kW at 5,000 rpm. Its in-line twin-cylinder block has a displacement of 703 cm³, together with an 80.0 mm bore and a 70.0 mm stroke.

At full throttle, the engine operates within a range of 4,500 to 5,500 rpm, while its neutral idle speed is rated at 1,000 ± 50 rpm. It combines carburettor fuel delivery, CDI ignition, NGK BR7HS spark plugs and lubrication based on a pre-mixed combination of fuel and oil.
