Volvo penta md11c
The Volvo penta md11c is a 2-cylinder Inboard marine diesel engine with a four-stroke cycle, natural aspiration and direct fuel injection. With a displacement of 1.12 litres, it produces approximately 23 HP (17 kW) at 2,500 rpm, with power delivered at the propeller shaft. Its mechanical design is particularly suited to auxiliary propulsion in sailing yachts and small displacement craft.
Its construction uses a cast-iron crankcase, cylinders and cylinder heads, together with replaceable cylinder liners, overhead valves and a fully mechanical fuel system without turbocharging or electronic engine controls. Originally, cooling is provided directly by seawater through a seawater pump and water-cooled exhaust system; depending on the installation, the engine can be paired with a conventional marine reverse gearbox or a Volvo Penta 110S saildrive.
